Wind Tendrils

I worked on both Earth Fragments and Wind Tendrils at the same time, in an exploratory and spontaneous way.

Influenced by the natural world, especially by water, this artwork evolved through a process of intuitively building up layers of paint, collage, pen, pencil, charcoal and crayon, sometimes sanding areas, to create a dynamic and arresting artwork, where a history is inscribed on the surface itself.  As I worked, I responded to the shapes as they evolved, maintaining this approach all the way through to keep a sense of energy.

Although available individually, Wind Tendrils is also available as a Diptych with Earth Fragments - you can see them together by clicking 'along' on the picture (or the dots below it).
